MYTUJEMY ON A DIET? OUR ADVENTURE WITH DIETBOX!

You guys know us for quite long ago and you are aware, that we don’t care about being super fit! But when family & friends started to throw weird comments at us, concerning our bodies… We wanted to show them, that fit is our second name! So, we tried diet catering with DIETBOX. Interested? CHOOSING A DIET

As we are total amateurs in the topic of diets, before choosing the right 3-day set, we contacted with the dietitian from DIETBOX by phone. This element is a start of every adventure with this diet catering. It is important to properly prepare for the conversation – just remember your weight (which was difficult for us), height and tell your dietitian about your lifestyle, with particular regard to sports activity. It has a big impact on what kind of diet set will be offered to us.

TIP FOR YOU: at this stage it is important to consider what products you like and which you are not able to eat! This also applies to any type of exclusion, allergy or intolerance.

Believe us, it is worth preparing for this conversation, because wrongly chosen diet can do more harm than good. We asked our Lady of the Diet what really could threaten us in the case of poorly chosen meals.

“If we are on a poorly balanced diet, we do not see the desired effects in the body and our mood. We can also become victims of the yo-yo effect, a situation where lost kilograms return with excess. Our metabolism may be reduced – so even though we will eat little, we will still be fat. Vitamins and minerals deficiencies can be high, which can result in anemia, hair loss, pale complexion, under eye circles and many other symptoms. You don’t have to risk your health by experimenting with diets. The key is a proper, rational diet suitably chosen by a specialist who has the knowledge and experience in this area, “- emphasizes the DIETBOX dietician.

DIET SETS

We weren’t surprised, when we got a 2000 calories STANDARD BOX, which is a classic set for those who want to take care of proper nutrition and lose a few extra kilos without severe diets. This set is also available in wege version, with or without fish and in calorie variants: 1700 and 2500 kcal. The STANDARD BOX price for 5 working days is 310 PLN.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The courier with a paper bag covering 5 meals has appeared at our houses at 10pm every day of our diet. Some of meals we left in the fridge for later, some we have eaten at home or at work. Taking the boxes with us was totally comfortable – the meals were safe and aesthetically packed so that their transport was painless for us! We tried to eat every 2 hours to take full advantage of our diet, drink plenty of water and of course – train more. Mateo was running and Madzix spent the morning at a nearby gym.

DAY 1

  1. BREAKFAST: Roasted beetroot with feta cheese, rucola and bread
  2. II BREAKFAST: vegetables with ginger sauce
  3. LUNCH: beef with vegetables and mung mushrooms with brown rice
  4. TEA: cocktail with cherry, peach and banana
  5. DINNER: broccoli and egg salad

 

DAY 2

  1. BREAKFAST: spinach and ham with yoghurt and paprika sauce
  2. II BREAKFAST: Waldorf salad
  3. LUNCH: buckwheat cheeses and curd cheese, served with mushroom sauce and red cabbage
  4. TEA: yoghurt dessert with redcurrants
  5. DINNER: curry with sweet potatoes and chicken

 

DAY 3

  1. BREAKFAST: strawberry mousse
  2. II BREAKFAST: salad with artichokes, cashews and beet sprouts with herbal sauce
  3. LUNCH: Spanish tortilla with salmon, yoghurt sauce and grilled zucchini
  4. TEA: fruit salad with homemade granola
  5. DINNER: Buckwheat pate served with cucumber, celery and wholemeal bread

 

OUR IMPRESSIONS

First of all – we realize that 2000 calories are not a small amount, but for us who have been thinking about eating 24/7 for two years now, adapting to the new rules was a real challenge! We were mostly surprised by the fact that … we were not hungry at all. Food every 2, 3 hours really makes sense! We asked DIETBOX dietitian, what is going on with regularity thing?

“The regularity of eating is the basis of healthy eating. Every person should eat an average of 5 meals a day during the day. There is a mistaken belief that the less often we eat, the better and healthier for our body. In fact, however, it is completely different. If we lengthen the interval between meals, our body will postpone its fat tissue to be able to defend itself against future threats such as energy loss. By eating regularly, we acclimatize our body to its regular doses. This makes the energy is not collected only used. That’s why DIETBOX sets consist of 5 portions of full-fledged meals. “- it is worth remembering these words, because as the classic says – we take care of our bodies for years, not just for the summer.

Most important – what about the taste? We totally fell in love with breakfasts. DIETBOX does it really well – the dishes are super varied and created with good quality ingredients. You can truly feel it! Thanks to the labels on the meal kits, we know when we should heat up the meal. What else? The difference between the dishes served in our favorite restaurant and in the DIETBOX boxes is not so big! Warm tarts, excellent porridge … The mornings were really our favorite time during our diets!

The only problem we had was to not tell the DIETBOX what kind of ingeedients we just don’t like. It is important to write down what you like to eat and what not at the beginning of the diet. Madzix forgot about her hate for buckwheat, so one dinner from the diet was not good, Mateo was a bit shocked when he received the same juice for the second breakfast one day. You know… juice in our conviction is just an addition to a meal.


Last but not least – drink! During the box diet, it is extremely important to driiiiink! Lots of water, more tea – don’t forget about regular irrigation!

THE SUMMARY

Over a dozen days, 2 diets and 30 boxes later we write these words – we made it! Veni, vidi, vici – we survived those days and we say – it is not as terrible as it seems!
